Bleu Butterfly began in 2001 with my first collection of jewelry.  Over the years, I have developed my own personal style, which incorporates a number of different elements.  My emphasis is on unique, primarily one of a kind designs.  The galleries depict examples of my work and some may be available for sale.  I am always happy to create a custom order.  I am located in Los Angeles and am available by appointment to show the current collection that is for sale.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me!                                                                                                                                                                                                     ~ Karen            My jewelry is arranged in four different collections.  Most of the designs are one of a kind originals Vintage Collection: All the pieces in the Vintage Collection are made with a combination of contemporary elements - stones, silver, gold, gold-fill, etc. and vintage elements that I have collected from various locations.  These include old keys, vintage pendants and pins, charms, etc.  When possible, I will indicate the approximate age of the vintage elements in a piece.  All vintage pieces are one of a kind but if you are looking for something special and unique I can keep an eye out for a special element and create something just for you.  The key pendants often contain disk shaped charms with  inspirational words.  These can be switched out for a different word if requested or a pendant can be made just for you with the word of your choice. Ancient Collection: The ancient collection is based around pieces designed and fashioned from traditional and modern chainmaille weaves.  Chainmaille is an ancient art of weaving rings of different sizes together to form a pattern and was traditionally used to create armor.  The patterns lend themselves beautifully to a variety of jewelry styles and the pieces are suitable for both men and women.  The rings can be made out of many different materials and the price of a piece is often dependent on the material it has been made out of as well as the size and complexity of the weave.  Some pieces in this collection are one of a kind but many are available to order and each design or style can be made in a variety of sizes and materials. Elemental Collection: Inspired by nature, this collection features jewelry where the focus is on the elements - precious and semi-precious stones, metal, leather.  The feel of these pieces is earthy and organic and sometime very modern.  A featured element of this collection are the hand-made fine silver leaves.  Actual leaves are coated with fine silver clay, which .999 pure silver and then are fired and hand-finished.  The look beautiful on their own on a simple leather cord or silver chain, but you may also see them combined with other elements, such as stones and chainmaille. Karina Collection: All of the pieces in the Karina Collection are one of a kind.  Most of them are pieces created as custom orders or gifts.  They all feature elements fashioned from fine silver art clay and most serve as examples of my style and hopefully as inspiration for you to commission a special piece.  From time to time, there may be a few pieces that are available for sale and that will be indicated in their description.  I call this the Karina Collection because this is a very personal collection and Karina is a special nickname of mine.                             www.bleubutterfly.com   © 2008
